  1. I love your take on pricing. There is definetly a balance to be had on affordability and making enough for fair compensation. I’ve seen a lot of people who want to start at the top! You really got to put in the work to get the reward. Love this video, your content on building community and just generally building a fanbase and tools/organization to make it possible. I feel much more prepared for my start up having came across this channel

  2. I appreciate what you do.. you have some of the greatest content of its kind. And I’ve learned a lot from just watching your vids and I finally started putting some of your advice to use. Thanx and keep these great videos coming.

  3. Right on man. I have an important message that is against oppressive terrorism but I'm working alone and my live blues is a lot better than anything I can make in a DAW wich is frustrating

  4. I don't get it, you said to be cautious of YouTube channels who have achieved nothing and just have a course to sell in one channel, then in all of your videos you haven't achieved anything and got a book to sell?

  5. Great topic, I’ve always subscribed to the idea of constantly building dots and connecting them along the way… even retroactively. But more so, I’ve learned they key do doing this properly is to do so in the spirit of giving. Always try to provide value first; from little things things like sending a fun YouTube video or plug in, or just doing a favor out of pure generosity. Call in favors only after you’ve deposited capital yourself. Thanks for the video!

  6. I would love to have other people mix my music but just don't have the money for it so have to save it for special occasions. Still, this video has inspired me to looking into working with collaborators more after 15 years mostly making music on my own.

  7. Also, it seems like sometimes people charge fees because their favorite artist does without understanding why their favorite artist does. The artist has intrinsic value ($$ – streams, etc) that a feature brings, as well as a need to prioritize their time in some way.

If you are a smaller artist one way to have them reconsider the fee is lay out where "fee" money would be better spent (on growth) as well as the assets you bring (which are likely more than their's if you're watching this channel).

Everyone wants a reward without the work because that's how a job works but it's different in music if you are general population (not in industry).
