Ive been uploading music to Spotify for almost 2 years and so far ive made a breathtaking $18.02 😂 (Tbh music is just a hobby for me so im happy its making any money at all)
What about those scammer playlists who target smaller artists and put them on bot playlists without their consent in order to get new artists to pay them?? Doesn’t that penalize them when the bot listens are out of their control?
I still find this crazy they already paying you trash so they think some independent artist getting paid good like other artists still not right … I’m just saying
I think the key word here is “in theory”. If I start making a significantly more amount from all the streams I get over 1000, hell yea. But if the payout is still gonna be .003 cents per stream or whatever, then they’re really screwing me over. I’m not getting a ton of music either way tho, and neither are artists whose streams don’t hit over 1k
Are we talking a threshold per track or is it that we need to reach that threshold with our catalog? Because I don’t have tracks that reach 1,000 plays but with my catalog all together I surpass 1,000 plays and I do get paid. Not a lot but I do receive a few dollars.
That’s what I’m worried about. I’m worried I won’t receive those dollars I’m already receiving cuz they’ll be send to a pool. It’s hard earned money from music that takes time to produce.
How about they pay the artist based on user plays instead of pooling it all together? For example.. if Bob pays $10 for a month and only plays Van Halen… Van Halen should get $10. Right now however if Bob plays Van Halen 200 times in a month and no one else Van Halen gets $.027 because they take his subscription and put it in a pool and split it by all plays. This is why small artists don’t get paid because for every time someone plays Taylor Swift it makes the pay per play smaller… so the small artists get robbed and it doesn’t matter who Bob is listening to.
Also.. if they detect an account run by a bot close that account… don’t do anything to the publisher. Secondly don’t offer free service without verification that it is an actual person. It’s pretty simple to do.. tie it to a phone number and an actual account and require a phone call with an actual person.
Yeah, when I was younger & was looking into the occult, i presented the idea of manifestation to my friends. They made fun of me, but then one of my friend's parents brought home "the secret" dvd about the law of attraction. Next thing you know, my friends were all into, like instantly, no question & immediately started practicing the ideas. It was one of the first times i saw how they can swiftly install satanic doctrine in people who arent even spiritual or religious.
Welll…..
This past week I was added to a bot playlist. I wish Spotify would give you the ability to easily report and remove yourself from shady playlist.
How do you know which playlists are bots and which aren’t?
How about they pay more per stream the less streams you have and each addional stream you make less per stream? Progressive stream payout system
I think the threshold is a good thing. If you can't get 1k streams in a year then your music just isn't good enough.

i don't think i understand, can someone explain to me why exactly that's a good thing? aren't small artists gonna be fucked bc of that?

Anti-artist.
I Always got paid from Tunecore , be it Very Little because of the low stream counts. Why would you Push that PRO-Spotify narrative ? pretty crappy….

You think distrokid will adapt or Spotify will flag the whole distributor and its artist? 😅🙋🏽♀️

sometimes these botted playlists add your music without your permission.

Ummm can we get a threshold for what counts as getting paid? 😳
But how much pay is enough to continue to get paid? I've only made around 500 so far
It could be so simple. Just pay every artist the same per listen.
This guy has always been such a shill.
