On February 26, 2009, Google software engineer Matt Cutts collected questions on Google Moderator and answered many of them on video.
BlindFiveYearOld from SF, CA asked:
When did “Did you mean” search results begin to be displayed? And what is the criteria for presenting “Did you mean” search results above the normal search results?

Removing the no link was the most frustrating ui call you guys ever made.
It is not a quality improvement for me unless you add a check box or button beside the question that lets me answer NO! Then you can go ahead and show the results of MY search!
I've this problem even in this year 2019, I spelt words and phrases correctly but Google showed me "Did you mean…". Well, Google needs improvement.
The benefits of clicking the "did you mean" results "may" be better than what anyone may have typed on the search bar in the first place. And yes, it is highly relative, but as smart as Google can be, most of the time, their "did you mean" results can help anyone better in searching.
well thanks for that fantastic peice of info (thats not sarcastic i acually wanted to know) THANKS
