So basically, he's saying don't use tags because people do it wrong. Too many of them and repeating phrases already in the post. But if you use variations of the phrases in the post like the singular used in the post and the plural in the tag or vice versa and no more than 5 tags, 3 even better. Use them right and it's okay. IMHO.
Hi
We should use rel = "nofollow" in the categories? This prevents google rate our content as duplicated?
Question: I have stuffed alot of my posts with tags, like, cookies, cookie recipe, best cookie recipe. I know I have made a boo-boo. Do you recommend that I go in and take all the tags out?
Do you think the tag stuffing has hurt my site in google rankings?
It is worth making tags e.x if you type in on Youtube like Awesome sauce it willl appear the one that has Awesome, sauce, epic this is why you do that!!!
You really work for google?? LOL this suggestion was horrible google loves tags on posts and in fact they index tags quicker then categories. Bad advice
0:12 totally sucked…
I disagree a bit. If you're tags are marked with rel="tag" for technorati or what not, it could help drive *some* traffic to your site, though that's not exactly SEO, it's more link building. Your ROI for that will depend on a lot of factors.
Correct – for internal navigation tags are really good to have (related posts). On the other hand I dont't see users clicking on tags to find content too often…OK, seldomly…OKOK, never. Period. 😉
Somebody wouldn't be interested in hearing about your cats? That's crazy talk.
@sayweb I would add a lil description before or after the video
Also, for SEO it's better to just use one category per post.
I do whatever Matt Cutts does. If he doesn't use tags, I will not.
tags are for the benefit of the user mainly
What about words that relate to the content but do not show on the article body, like a post with a video on it. In this case does tags help?
Very good and helpful video. Great question, Great Answer.
Its a no-brainer…
