Great information, but is it just me or does he sound like his nose is stuffy😅
Love it! I love how detailed his videos are. I'm definetly going to apply all this!
this dude has all my favorite songs in the background its actually crazy. gecs, dijon, turnstile, underscores. Amazing taste man!
Jesse Cannon, are you the the kind to be more suspectible to wear a lawsuit than dressing up in court?🛑😂😂 I mean your sort of persuasive like some people in the legal profession😅
when you’re a cross between kodak black and roddy rich 😂
Hey Jesse, love what you are doing here and its guiding me quite a bit. I wondered (after watching many of your videos and starting to implement some of your teachings) if the algorithms and rules you have also work for Europe or the world. Are these guidelines just for the US? Thanks!
Good Info… Here's a tip that helped me get a song in the hands of possibly the most famous Country Artist today, and although it's not a done deal, it's on the list as possible being the Title track of the album. I would say my offds are 90% and I will know for sure within a couple weeks. If you are lucky enough to pitch a song to a huge Artist, or that Artist manager, or publisher, make sure your demo is quality and make sure what you wrote fits the style of that Artist. DO NOT radomly mail your Demo to these people because I assure you it will go straight to the trash can. I found a way to pitch my song through a friend of the manager of the famous Artist. I first pitched my song to my friend, asked him if he thought it was good enough to pitch to the manager. He told me he had never used his friendship with this manager to pitch someones song, because he knew the manager gets harrased daily with new material, but he felt this song was so fitting for this Artist, he was willing to help me get it in front of this manager. I wanted to make the presentation of my song as creative as possible, something a bit different than the typical artwork showing a dude with a guiter on the cover photo. I made the cover photo for this demo cd look like a wooden crate, and in small print it said "Handle With Care" just like you would see on a wooden crate. Then in larger words the cover said " Your Handling (insert artist name) next multi-platinum single (insert title of song). I put the lyrics on the back of that cover photo, and on the back cover I charted my song using the Nashville number system. Most musicians can not read music charts, but they can read the Nashville number system and that's what most use when charting a song. I had my actual disk digitally printed with Title, Artist Name, Writers Name, UPC Code Number, contact email and phone number. Everything they would need to register this song and give me proper writers rights was digitally printed on the disk, and you can get 100 of those disk professionally made a diskmakers for roughly $140. I'm not saying it's a done deal, but the presentation was good, my friend was the one that gave it to the manager, and after he listened to it, he requested that we meet, and he told me the artwork was clever and the production of the Demo was as good as what you would hear in a major studio, and it was made in a home studio. Just wanted to share with fellow writers and musicians what worked for me. I have a really good shot with this song, but it for some reason the deal falls through, at least I had a chance to get it heard by possibly the biggest Country Artist on the charts. Hope this gives you an idea to improve your chances.
Lets go. Learning so much. You the gr
Whats your opinion on submithub and similar sites?
Thanks for making all this content!
I'm not touchn that thumb up…
that dijon song in the background is my favourite song right now. i can tell you must know what you're talking about !
Hi Jesse, Do you have any advice other than ''quit'' for me I'm 57 and i live in Glasgow Scotland, in my thirties I went to try my hand in Hollywood and i was doing pretty good till two guys had me 5150ed so they could steal my Gibson guitars and other stuff, i found myself penniless and homeless overnight [for four years] now i spend all my time in my home studio writing and recording songs nobody ever hears, I litterally know no people and am stuck in a constant depression, not knowing what to do or if i should even try. but here i am still alive and with good tunes but a bad attitude and ruined confidence. should i just give up on life? i'm lost.
Really great. Thanks!
How do I pitch to Apple Music
FUCC GATEKEEPERS. ARTISTS WHO GIVE ACTUALLY CREATE SHIT AND GIVE LIFE–ESPECIALLY IF YOU ALREADY KNOW WHO THEY ARE–SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LICK ASSCRACK WITH THOSE WHO DON'T CREATE SHIT AND "PITCH". It is criminal that there are all these middlemen who get filter your music, WHICH DOES HAS AN ORGANIC AUDIENCE SOMEWHERE, through their personal prejudices, biases, whether or not who they are fuccing or hope to fucc likes you, and here's the biggie: they get to filter your music and make the decision GIVE IT THEIR PERMISSION FOR THE PEOPLE TO HEAR IT, based upon whether the creator belongs to a group they want to remain in an inferior position and not make as much money as another group.
This power is the people's–not theirs, and we can take it back as soon as we stop elevating these gatekeepers and "Tastemakers" to that level of decisive discretion! It really CAN be a STRAIGHT LINE for the most part between YOU AND YOUR ARTIST–FUCC ALL THOSE WHO PUT THEIR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS THROUGH COLLEGE WITH MONEY THE ARTIST SHOULD BE MAKING!
gettin like 5% seth rogen vibes from you my guy
I‘ve watched this video til the end and all I‘m wondering is why is his nose so stuffed up
im definitely taking notes and applying this to my current album rollout dropping next week, thank you Jesse this channel is leveling up my artist music career!
"I've read your pitches before, and the words coherent or tight don't always come to mind" 😀
when i blow up all these people that never responded to my follow up or didnt even bother to checkout the demos i sent, are getting the management email. im petty like that.
Thoughts on signing with an emerging manager VS an established management company?
Love your content! You’re the NO BS music guys! 🔥🎶
Hi Jesse, I’m trying to write an email to a management company but I keep getting stuck on what to write as the subject, any advice? Also love your videos, they’ve helped grow so much in the past 8 months 🙂
Hey, I'm a new artist and new to this channel, I am watching all your videos now. I never got this amount of info from a single video of a channel. I have zero fans or they are in single figures. I want to start promote my music but I don't have a label budget. Your videos are really really helpful in taking notes of the important information that is essential for promotion. As of some knowledge I have gained till now is that you can't randomly blow up on any platform until the algorithm pushes it or you get a collab/promotion from a big name in the genre. After watching some of your videos (I know I got a lot to watch still), my question is if I want to grow my audience from 0 and want people to pay attention to my music while sustaining the attention for a long term, what should be the strategy going forward from this point. Thanks, Your info is really help a lot of diy artists and producers and Sorry if My English is not good it's because I don't speak English that often
Were you in the band Senses Fail? :O
I been missing your battle I wanted to go to
I wanted to ask you a question. Some label got ahold of me in Atlanta, and wanted money down then they will fly me out ( sounds fishy to me )
Well needed info. More Indie artist should know this for sure
