How does URL structure affect PageRank?

Chris. F. Masse from the World-Wide World asks: “On your WordPress.org blog (mattcutts.com), why did you switch from domainname.com/year/month/day/sample-post/ to domainname.com/postname/ ? Has this to do with how PageRank flows within a site?”

  1. I am working for a health website onlymyhealth in which we have two language English and Hindi. For English URL's i am quite ok but i am not sure about the hindi URL, i searched everywhere but couldn't find the answer whether we should use.
    a – Hindi URL

    b- English URL
c – Hinglish URL (writing Hindi in English)

The problem with hindi URL is that we it contains special characters so please guide me in this.

  2. Matt, usually this handicaps you from using the exact same page title and url slug in any time period. I usually prefer Year/Month to uniquify a URL (Kinda' like SKU number for products). So, whenever I use same page title in another month, I don't fall in trouble.

  3. I don't know if this is possible but it would be so much appreciated if these contents could be transcript in order to make them accessible to a wider public, ex. those of us residing in Africa on and off or on a more permanent basis. sites with much less viewers such as mixergy and havocinspired than this have such feature so please do consider this. should be one of googles goal, i.e. to reach as many as possible
