Do you still need to do Google Ads keyword research in 2026 and the answer is YES
π Learn how to ‘Start & Scale’ with Google Ads: https://www.definedigitalacademy.com/start-and-scale-with-google-ads
But the good news is that completing your KW research in 2026 is much different & takes a lot less time than what it would do in years gone by.
In fact I remember especially pre 2020 that it could take you more that a whole day to complete your KW research and also painstakingly break them out into different campaigns & ad groups
For me, I am actually happy those days are gone.
Letβs get into WHY KW research has changed but also WHY it is still important in 2026.

Hey kind commenters. Iβd love to work free for a month as your Google Ads apprentice. Iβll handle boring tasks and reduce your workload. I only want real-life experience.
Please add a Turkish audio track to your videos.
Keywords, even if it's only to train the ad serving algorithm, will continue to be relevant for some time. Otherwise, your going to pay a heavy price for Google's system whom your customer actually is.
Thank you Aaron
Great video Aaron, subscribe and like!
Thanks Aaron! Quick question for you or any Google whiz π€ how important is linking analytics to your ad so Google learns to optimise for a specific person? Necessary or not required if you have ads set up correctly? Say for a search campaign. Thanks!
