So if I’m already registered with distro kid, I can also register with all of those other places too? And I won’t run into issues, uploading the song and distributing them through all of those platforms?
How is a million streams $10,000? 🥴
I composed a nice one, I’m Brazilian living in Boston chasing funds to make money with my investor
Sound exchange sounds way too good to be true. How the hell do they make money?
When did 1 million streams equate to $10,000? What streaming site is paying that!
I love this channel, because you bring so much optimism into the industry. People are so pessimistic sometimes, “Tik Tok ruined music!” One of the worst times to be a musician…etc
Like back in the day you ain’t got a record deal, you best be working at Costco cause that art degree or lack of one wasn’t doing anything for you either.
We are in the attention era and getting the initial attention can be tough at first, but it’s possible more than ever! I feel the battle besides gathering attention these days is then consistently maintaining momentum and monetizing momentum to support yourself for years to come.
Getting their attention once is easy, your new and fresh. Continually that’s the new battle for great artists and always has been low key. Kanye prime example.
New style rocks!
Sukses selalu buat chanelnya ya boos
For ascap, bmi, and sesac…when you say artists forgetting to upload their sets do you mean for instance a dj would have to upload their entire mix to let’s say YouTube in order to be compensated (if they played a song of theirs). Also, what about recap videos that summarize cool scenes of the event with your music on top of it, does that count (if you played songs of yours)?
You are going to be the next big YouTuber one day!!! Try -> *Promo sm*.
Jesse please could you help me understand what u mean by uploading a live show to get performance royalties from PRO's. You mean like uploading the live video and audio or even just audio to like youtube or bandcamp kinda thing? I'd be really grateful if you could detail that one out a little , thanks, ur such a support, I hope ur havin a day as awesome as I think u are <3
00:12 Nice one, keep it up!
Hey I just wanna say THANK YOU because applying info from your videos has gotten me on editorials twice and I’m at 12k listeners now. You rock
Whatup Jesse. These videos are great man! I'd be honored if you'd check out some of the music on my page.
Word. Seems like I set myself up correctly from the jump. Any thoughts on Songtrust or the MLC??
SX is a huge PIA to set up from the EU. Need to fill in a US tax form, which tends to get lost in processing
So happy I discovered this channel I've learned so much from your videos I've been binge watching and taking notes
Thank you for this
I agree with everything except what was said about bandcamp. Musicians are poorly funded but I’ve never had heavy traffic to my band camp like my other links. Maybe it’s a genre thing or something, but I would suggest fundraising sites like patreon which is incentive based instead. Lmk what you think too
You can upload your live performance to your PRO and they pay you$$ ?? Damn I did not know that’s how they do it. That’s so dope… what if you cover someone else’s song during the set and you don’t know if it’s permissible or not?? I wonder if they overlook it or come back on you for that. 🤔🤔
Thank you Jesse! I've ignored my babdcamp for a while… This was a good reminder. Also, never done sound exchange, so I'm happy to learn about it!
Do you have any recommendations for a publisher who proactively works on your behalf? I've recently learned that a lot of money can also be missed without them.
Since the publisher may depend on the style of music, my band, Francis Farmer, is gritty 90s influenced, but with more modern sonics and themes.
Which category does Song Trust fall into?
Thank you so very much. 🙂 This is what I needed.
I’m of <the opinion that those who leave it to market dynamics to determine when to trade or not are either new to the Market or are probably just naïve. The market has seen far worse times than this, enlightened traders are taking advantage of the dip and pumping even more towards trading sessions. My advice to new investors: More emphasis should be put into day trading as it is less affected by the unpredictable nature of the market. Trading went smooth for me as I was able to raise over 12 BTC when I started at 2 BTC in just 7 weeks of implementing trades with signals and insights from expert Darryl Marshall
Hey Jesse, I am new to your channel and I really like the effort you put in to feed Curious minds like me to bring out the true potential inside. I had binge watched various videos on your channel from last couple of days and got many helpful insights. But still I have some doubts regarding my debut song which I am planning to release in May 2023. I have written many songs and compiled them into an album. Since I am from India looking forward to make my mark in Pop industry, I already know my path is not easy. But I am passionate about my artistic work. I want to ask you whether I should release official audio or lyrical video and how often should I drop a new song. Since I'm a completely beginner in this industry, your suggestion will help me to Kickstart my musical journey strong enough. Hope you answer.
Much love from 🇮🇳
Thank you for the immense value <3
Jesse, your channel is honestly far and away the best music marketing channel on YouTube. I have saved multiple of your videos to my own private YouTube playlist where I watch them again and again as needed and literally will pause and complete the steps you spoon feed to me as I watch. I hope your channel blows up and you get millions of subscribers, as you rightly deserve for you service to starting musicians like myself.
Musformation = the best music information there is.
only 420 views, I'm here extremely early. god bless you and the information you provide
Didn’t know some of these! Thanks for the tips.
Cool cool!
I love how you have the "lead singer" cable grip. That way, if you step on the cord, you're not going to pull the cable out. Love it! 🙂
10k in royalties per 1 million streams? is that supposed to come from tunecore alone or aggregated from other sources? i've never heard a number that high but if it's true i'm over the moon… i thought it was more like a fifth of that…. so how do I get paid that much??
this is awesome. Thanks! Have you considered doing a whole series on how to make a living/career from music and becoming an artist full time? would love to see that.
😁
😁
Hey Jesse, any experience with Songtrust? Apparently they help your PRO track down international Publishing Royalities.
Another perspective changer👌🍃
I need to set my stuff up on Soundexchange and Bandcamp, for sure. Thanks for reminding me about this! Good thing I'll have some extra free time to do it this weekend. You really are a treasure trove, Jesse! Hope you're seeing the growth you were expecting from this new video layout. 🤘🤘
