Is there still a "site performance" tab on Google Search Console? I am looking for statistics that compare my site's page load times with accepted averages.
Hi currently writing a new blogpost on the subject pageload in relation to data as bounce rates, conversion, rates. Speed up loading of "non-essential" scripts via asynchronous script calls.
If done this way, your page will continue loading as soon as the script load is triggered, rather than the script load blocking the rest of your site's download and reflow until it has finished executing. Also load all non-presentation js in the bottom of your html document.

"At Firefox" sounds so wrong. I bet you really hurt the feelings of the Mozilla Foundation there. It's like saying "At Internet Explorer" instead of "At Microsoft".
Page Speed had to be removed seeing that the tool itself interfered with the site. Adding Page Speed was exactly coincident with a dramatic one-time drop in Googlebot crawl stats, pages crawled per day. Page Speed was removed completely. The crawl stats immediately restored to previous ranges.

New data on mobile pagespeed found on https://www.thinkwithgoogle.com/marketing-resources/data-measurement/mobile-page-speed-new-industry-benchmarks/ But desktop still is important and I do not want to use outdated 2011 data..
Anyone has up to date resources on desktop #pageload data?

Yes, asynchronously loaded JS does help, but I have still found that a page without the AdSense code loads decidedly quicker.

Ironically, Google AdSense and Analytic scripts seem to slow down page load speed a great deal.
