  1. appreciate your content but your constant negative asides make it hard to listen. in this case, spotify built what they have through a lot of work when streaming got laughed out of the room.

  2. How does the countdown advice relate to Spotify vs YouTube? I noticed here you say it's only useful for big artists but i believe in other videos you've said it's useful to crate hype for YouTube premieres?

  3. I think a full video on the countdown page would be great. who can access this? and how does it come into play with your current distributors presave options?
    Very interesting new features though, trying out discovery mode & marquee for the first time this month. Fingers crossed.

  4. 27000 listeners per month or more to have access to discovery mode! Aren’t you kind of discovered at that point already? I’ve got no chance, hovering at about 50 ha ha! Damn 🙁

  5. My band Worm Grunter has "only" 79 monthly listeners as of today and we don't have the Video tab. I have a strong feeling that since we are essentially nobodies we won't see that tab in the near future or at all. Personally, I don't care as we are driving people to our EP on Bandcamp anyway.

  6. hopefully new artists have access to the feature while its new and the algorithm is sweet every time Spotify does this it takes months for "unsigned artists" to get access

  10. Get rid of all of this bloat BS and pay your artists more. Discovery Mode is gross, the TikTok-ification of the app sounds gross (it's a music/podcast app for crying out loud) and they're creating (arguably unnecessary) work for artists to do. Shame that they hold such a strong position in the industry- the sad part is it's the platform where we make the most money due to the sheer volume of streams.
