As usual, incredibly useful. Just out of interest, is Get More Fans available in audiobook form? Otherwise I'll read it with my eyes, but I'll be very slightly less happy about it…
So my band Vintersea just start blowing up on YouTube – we had about 1k subscribers and had released like….6 music videos? Then we dropped "Befallen" and it instantly started doing better than anything else we've done. It brought up others along with it – a video that had been at 20k plays is now at 470k. It's kinda nuts when it hits. We make it a goal to respond to every comment, I think that's helped with engagement. We had been plugging away at videos for 3 years before one finally popped. Slow and steady. And new fans have lots of content to explore. https://youtu.be/RA9jknv0Ki4
What people are looking for is a formula to go from 0 subs to 1,000,000 subs.. lol.. If you can't provide that please don't call this a promotion strategy. This video is made for the .001% artists. Not applicable to 99.99% of the people.
Jesse, your videos are the only ones I have seen real results from. Although the growth is slow, at least the fulfillment and realism I work with are way up there. I would be very grateful if you can make a video about the right way to use reddit for people that are JUST starting out.
Great video! Is it ok if I ask where to find the website or info about Zach? It sounds as if he does marketing/PR management, and currently that’s something I’m looking for. I’ve promoted my music a few times to varying degrees of success, but I’ve come to realize that a team who can allow you to focus on actually creating music and writing songs and coming up with ideas is infinitely helpful.
This isn't really helpful, most people watching this don't have a million sub's , I thought the video would explain more transferable things, but it's just describing what people with a label and a big following are doing, and worse all that's really explained is stuff you can see them doing from the outside anyway, I actually like your videos but we need more info on what we can do from the ground level with no support , and how other artist "make it" without any label support with examples and proof that they didn't have labels helping them.
I make beats, and I've been listening to a lot of rappers with low followings. And I would talk to them. I have a few people that said would use my beats. But I'm not sure on how to use platforms like Twitter and Instagram for promotion. I could be the typical spammer and just have my whole feed with my beats. Ofc im not gonna do that. What should I be posting? Kinda lost, and need some guidance
I upload a beat everyday and at the same times, so I have a consistent schedule.
