In this episode, John Mueller and Danny Sullivan continue their conversation about the changing landscape of Search. They discuss the practicalities of hiring an SEO professional in the age of AI: Do you really need one? How do you evaluate them? Danny also shares his thoughts on third-party SEO tools, “domain scores,” and why creators shouldn’t rush to break their content into “bite-sized chunks” just to please Large Language Models (LLMs).

Not going to comment on tools, since I clearly have a vested interest in one that focuses entirely on writing better and improving the quality of one's content, but what I will say is I think the closest word to "flabbergasted" in German is verblüfft.
19:08 – This argument is reductive and short sided. Google is constantly changing their standards and often times those standards benefit google specifically and NOT the end user. Many people and businesses get caught in the wake of algorithmic changes EVEN WHEN they are using best practices.
"You make your own decisions" is trying to put the accountability on everyone else and not the open nature of the evolving nature of search.
Yodel after me: SEO, AIO, GEO! 🙂
Yodeling from Switzerland, John is doing great 🙂
Right from the source, thank you Google.

Don't optimise the train while you are on it. Great advice, I won't be doing it 👍
Thank you. SEO guys are losing their mind over AI. That’s why you should do this more often.
Any advice on how to optimise for the "ghost keywords" used by Gemini's query fan-out for AI Overviews and AI Mode?
There is no one tool that will give you proper structure/creativity. Google makes that mistake a lot, too. Most case studies are not seo / value-friendly. They are all fluff…
hello google 🙂 we need to get insights about AIOverviews and other LLMS performance and keywords in search console, paid tools should not hoard this space with fees 15K and above for this information as site owners

The problem with your recommendation is that when one writes for humans with passion, even your own AI bots come and steal the content in full. There's just no use in doing it at all. However, if you make content with AI and LLMs in mind, you may get some traffic. Even if it's short term, just churn and burn and create new websites or whatever – it is better business-wise to get at least something rather than nothing when you write for humans.
