  1. Please note we cannot describe how to upload an HTML file into your specific site as the process is different for each content management system. Please check your platform for instructions on how to do so or ask a developer to help you with the process. The Google Search Console Training series focuses on Search Console and – in the case of this video – on the steps you need to follow in Search Console for this verification method.

  2. What a waste of time that was lol, the company asking you to authorise your site, puts a video telling you" Please note we cannot describe how to upload an HTML file into your specific site.." nice then who can tell us..the video was supposed to explain more from the limited information provided in the initial process.Extraordinary support there..bravo( sarcasm ) Google Search Support team! Try harder!

  3. Hi, I want to make a video on how to upload the file to the website. SO I'm just going to be really helpful…. and skip right past that bit and give you a thumbs up! thankyou bye.

  4. Une video traduite en Francais ne serait pas du luxe ! merci de penser a ce qui ne parle pas anglais….A video translated into French would not be a luxury! Please think of those who do not speak English. by translat GG

  5. Guys, dont waste your time and watch this Video. Here is the way to go:
Just don't use the download file, do it with the HTML-tag option

    – Open your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to "Design".
    – Open the "Theme-File-Editor"
    – On the right you can find the "header.php" file
    – Insert the tag you got from search console before </head>

  6. WIX USERS:

To upload a Google verification file on Wix, you don't directly upload a file; instead, you need to copy and paste the meta tag provided by Google Search Console into your Wix site's settings, as Wix doesn't allow for direct file uploads for verification purposes; access your Wix SEO settings, find the "Site Verification" option, paste the meta tag, and save the changes to complete the verification process.

  7. also – if you have established a dyi website – squarespace / weebly / wix etc – i can say for squarespace, there is a process by which they do the connection with Google Seach Console for you – and i'm guessing the others also. With squarespace it involved going into your analytics section and following some links – good luck
