Stellar points
why is the altec on the bottom right corner of the screen is smiling at me ? 😭😂
Yeah thats sort of what i do. I have a playlist of songs that have the sound im after and i listen to them analyzing the elements to sort of remind myself what im looking for.
I think the thing about options also applies when making music. at first youre getting better amd better amd just trying to show off, until you get so good that it's not about what you can do but what you should do. what choices you should make. that's when artistic maturity starts to play a role
So glad this video exists
jfc, HOW do you know what's in my head SO WELL every time.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL bro stop reading my mind
I get SO attached to my demos, even the mistakes and sour notes in them. Start to LOOK FORWARD to every little quirk of the half-finished demo.
This is worsened by my lifestyle which, so far, has been 20% music and 80% daily grind, so I commonly get song demos completed but never produced or polished.
Then I just listen to my demos for years. It's a curse. Glad I'm not the only one, though.
This is the best video on this topic I've found. Thank you!
You like to push the dust caps in on your speakers too? Lol, when I see on, I turn into a 5 yo and I won't be leaving the area until that thing is smashed inward.
I imagine your shirt says Little Wayne
This is a great video
Toss a coin or roll a dice, if you have strong negative reactions to the winning idea then at least you can eliminate it.
Do you have any advice for curing demoitis in my band mate? We've been working remotely with a producer we really enjoy and when we get something back, I always love the direction since I'm impressed by the technical work (how did he do that, that sound is insane) and she's self conscious of her vocals. Right now, I write all of the music and she sings. I don't want my rebuttal to be "you just have demoitis" and move on, since I want her to be proud of the song too.
Healthy Information!!💯💯💯
Great insight! I just came across your channel and I'm glad I did.
The timing of this video being released couldn’t be better for me with where I’m at in the process of my own song. Thanks for this!
This is such a problem. I find that i listen to my songs so much that i just dont feel anything from them, and because i dont feel anything, i lose that momentum to continue finishing them since i just become so paralyzed from all the decisions that can be made. Realized recently that i should probably stop doing so and limit my listening to only a few times in between writing sessions. Do you think this would help me finish songs and get over indecisiveness?
You’re killing it Jesse! We love the channel.
Great video Jesse! This was very validating towards my demoitis.
