  1. great content. If I have an artist name I am still confused if I should set up a new page for the artist or do from personal page. I would rather have a band page but it's hard to comment and engage with others from a band page

  2. Great advice, video, and critique of Facebook. I refuse to pay for fb ads because of what you mentioned as well as the amount of data mining they've subjected their users to. And they've been quite careless with said data once obtaining it or when selling to third parties… /end rant, but as a musician who's been retraining for IT/cyber security through lockdown, facebook and how they abuse their user base really drives me up the wall

  3. Facebook is one of those things it really depends on the user , if you’re hoping one ad without a Facebook pixel and proper ad funnel will find you die hard fans you’re out of luck . If you use the site how it’s intended to be used for conversion with the right product of course it can be done .

  4. Love the comment on @6:05 😊. Besides the fact that everyone on there is arguing about politics. 🙄 It’s so true about Facebook not being beneficial for promoting music. At least not for me which is why I stopped using FB ads. They also seem to ban all video footage on shows and concerts. It’s getting more strict for working musicians.

  5. Super solid stuff! So you would recommend joining said Facebook groups as your artist page? I’ve already joined a bunch of these groups and have been participating for a long time on my personal profile

  6. Learned that the hard way. Spent money on an ad to promote our EP and got less paid views than organic. Groups are a great way to find like-minded people. SubmitHub is a better platform for linking to musicians and getting honest feedback on your songs; for free. It’s a great way to polish the rough edges off your music before releasing it onto your socials

  7. That was really interesting to watch, thank you! I had no idea that Facebook would only show your posts to a subset of your audience without you paying them for the privelage – rather underhanded behaviour IMHO! A redditor recommended your channel to me earlier today, and I'm about to sit down and go through your big fanbase-building playlist 😁
