  1. hi, i didnt understand much of that video. i got to your video when googled" how to get on the big playlists" but here you say i have to start with the smaller ones – PROBLEM IS: the NEVER give an email or any way to contact them and you dont even know who is behind them

  2. In general I'm trying reconcile the whole chasing steams game with interviews I see with working Indie artists who get a large amount of streams but still maybe bring $5k or less per year. They then have to make that gap up with live show revenue and merch sales and still end up having work a part time job. Jesse, I know you give us information for Spotify only but is it possible to start doing videos on who to steer people to Bandcamp and or the artist's website for direct sales? Because I pay for my band's Distrokid account but am nice and split the royalties 3 ways I have yet to make a profit off of Spotify royalties. I have however made a decent amount of money both from band record sales and my solo work on Bandcamp with far less promo effort I may add.

  3. Chartmetric is pricey… Ouch. Only the premium has the option of looking at the Playlist Journeys. 140 $ a month. I'm sure its worth it though. Hence question. Is there a minimum amount of songs published for the artist to justify ( and the tool to work properly) using Chartmetric?

  4. Hi Jesse, just started releasing music, but have been making it for a while and would like to start promoting it and looking for shows soon, however i cannot find anyone making music even vaguely similar to me. Do you have any ideas how to go about finiding a community? Keep up the good work with your videos bro and thanks in advance for any help

  5. Love all of your
Information! It’s been very eye opening and helpful! QUICK QUESTION: So is it HIGHLY PREFERRED to spend say 1500$ – 2000$ on getting on legitimate playlists on Spotify pre release? Some of my band mates have researched this and have said we need about 500$ a piece “pre release” in order to make a solid gain of traction on Spotify…. That’s pretty stressful to think about considering everyone’s normal day to day life with jobs and bills. However, I’d love to hear your take on this! Much respect for all you do!

  6. I just want to thank you for the straight-forward advice. I've been taking notes as I prepare for my first singles and album venture into the digital realm. You've helped put things in perspective. I enjoy hearing about music promotion today, it's fascinating. Cheers.

  7. So why can’t I make great music, make great pitches to smaller playlists, and climb up the ladder? Why do I have to be a social media personality and find some niche other than music, or even if it is about music production or a studio tour (only so many of them I can do)? I’m not accusing YOU of saying this, but other channels like Damian Keyes (whom I unsubscribed to a couple weeks ago) and Adam Ivy (the only other music marketer I watch now) have both said this. I HATE having to develop a whole other skill and/or talent besides what I’m already good at. Love your channel btw

  8. To everyone reading this comment, don't stop hustling, keep pushing and trust the process, believe you will actually make it to the top someday. Stopping is never an option.
Stay blessed and keep your head up.
I don't have so many subscribes but the few i have are so special to my struggle ♥️♥️…

  9. I’ve noticed some subtleties and nuance to your videos which lead me to believe you’re giving good information. On the other hand…. Some of this seems convoluted. You have my attention. Cheers and thanks for all you do! I’m listening. Wish you the best.

  10. Thanks for another great video! Do you have any suggestions for getting new listeners to follow on Spotify? I have a song doing pretty well (finally!)and while it's getting some repeat streams, saves and playlist adds, it's not getting new followers.

  11. How would go about convincing band mates to do this sort of thing? Especially those that insist that for e.g. spamming people on Facebook, it's the best and only way to promote music.

Quiting the band/ working with new people is not an option.
