  2. @mq3500 There are like 5 links to google just on this one youtube page where you asked the question 🙂
    Also think of google sites, blogger and all those services that google provides for "free" where milions of people practically make content for google because google is linked from all of those pages.

  3. @mq3500
    Check linkto:google.com to see the backlinks (not exact)

    More over they don't do SEO or backlinks job.They actually index all the web pages into the Google Server. So when the search Result is done, it check the pages in google index and display the relevant content. It is not always google pages are ranked high.

    @who actually links to G?
    It's U,me .We simply place google links for their service like google. com/webmasters or other w/o any intention.bt Tht's how Backlinks shld be.

  4. @mq3500 I know I've seen links to search results. While it's not linking to the google homepage, every result page has a link back to Google.com. So pagerank would flow back to the homepage from there.

  5. @mq3500 There's plenty of content on Google's estate that is worth linking to, a lot of which will flow PageRank back to the home page. If you're really curious, why not use the Google Toolbar to find out where the backlinks are coming from?

  6. Am I correct in thinking that PageRank as used to compute search ranking is continually updated and acted upon and that the PageRank that we see in the toolbar is simply a public snapshot representation of what the internal PageRank was at the time?

    So if your PR is suddenly 2 or 8 then you should have already noticed changes in SERPS. The public display is simply confirming that PR may be a factor in any changes?

  7. Who actually links to google.com ?

    I can understand msn getting links from people pointing to news stories. But I can't remember the last time I saw a link to google.com. So why does it have such a high PR ?

    Being cheeky I know, but it's a valid question.
