this is like the best advice ive heard because i have fell into this trap repeatedly and never understood why
Thoughts on dumping your producer flr a single and going for someone else without it being an issue in your relationship? How do u even say that
Good points. 👍 I produced a guy who wanted to record with some musicians to get some of that band synergy. Unfortunately his vision was so ingrained he couldn't accept any of their ideas and what did make it through he hated. Went back to him playing everything!
i needed to hear this 🙏🏽
This video was so inspirational for me that the like button didn't seem to be enough. To remedy this I clicked on a couple of your links and bought a couple of your books. I am still in debt to you because I'm still getting way more value out of this deal than you are. I've been binging your videos and taking notes all day. If you're at the next URM Summit (assuming that still happens), perhaps I could buy you a beer.
Ok, not producing is the secret to producing. Got it. Don't listen, don't do tracking, don't help pick tones, don't help compose. Man, have I wasted 40 years.
This channel is the Tolarian Community College of music production. (And I mean this is a big compliment! ) You are like that guy's cooler younger brother
this vid is 100% good content 0% filler so rare on youtube ty!!
1:35 was such a good point
Great advice, as usual. Thanks Jesse!
thanks for the vid! really useful as always. although i think an interesting take that you missed on this is how to maintain objectivity if you're the artist AND the producer as well. a video about that would be pretty cool, taking in mind the examples of artists like Finneas and Tyler The Creator.
Rick Rubin doesn’t leave the room. He takes a nap in the back of the control room lol
Cool vid. Thanks for making it.
Hey, man your videos are amazing. I'm a college punk rocker myself and your tips have been great for my sound and promotion.
