Everyone tells me my sound is unique and I think it’s cause I listen to so much music and never focus on one listening experience

  2. Great video! As an artist re-approaching the music scene and industry, after about 15 years of stepping out and hopefully maturing as a person, I’ve been contemplating the potency of authenticity in lyrical composition, too. Not only do the emotions need to be authentic, but I think the perspective you take as a writer impacts how it resonates with the audience. That is, do you write as a “victim” or “survivor” to the circumstances and interpersonal issues you’re unpacking? And, in my opinion, those who write as “survivors” to their situations, rather than “victims,” tend to instill hope and inspiration in their listeners. Yet, if you’re an artist who continually portrays himself as a victim in life (even if that’s how you genuinely feel), your songs probably won’t garner as much of a following as the songs that overcome the ugliness of life. If that makes sense?
