Can you make an update? Especially for LA
How about Seattle? I want to start my own indie music career there but not sure how good it is
Tfw the old ass politically prehistoric dude projects that onto everyone else 💀
What do you think about Toronto Canada for pop music?
Really great insight embedded in this video. Well said. Especially in regards to community and collaboration
Finding community
Making good music
Doing cool things
yeah thats also what I thought about the whole subject, I'ma first work pretty much exclusively online, marketing my music until I make enough from streams and other revenue streams to make a comfortable living and then move to LA to get into those sessions with other artists 🙂
I’m not looking to blow up. I hate the idea of being famous
Maybe someone here would have insight on my problem…
For me it's not moving to a different city, it's about moving to the us or uk from a non-english speaking country.
Of course many people have told me try and integrate myself more with the local music scene, but it's indie rock music in English is EXTREMELY niche here. I do try to meet more musicians and all that, but it really isn't the same as often people living in the states describe. Anyone got any thoughts?
loving these Jesse. really is about putting in the time and hours whether online or IRL. solid advice (as always)
Hey Jesse, do you have any knowledge on what the city of Sydney is like? I live in Australia and since it's no America, we only really have 2 busy cities which are Sydney and Melbourne. Melbourne is apparently good for arts and music but Sydney is kinda as close to LA as Australia could possibly get lol. What do you reckon move to Sydney or move country?
Edit: My genre is hyper pop / indie pop
Damn what about when you live in another country, do you think it’s still worth it?
Strongly considering Atlanta, feel like it's big enough but not over saturated musically . And I love drumming to rnb, hip-hop, and also play guitar. I play drums, guitar and bass.
how many beers did you drink to make this video
Hello
Does it work with other country? I’m from Ucrania, the small town with no good opportunities in this area, Poltava, but I have a computer, could I make a prosperous career with internet network?
2:00 – how about Toronto? I'm Canadian 🙃
I was born and live in LA it’s great for networking but horrible for your finances.
another hit, thanks Jesse
This is all a tough pill to swallow, but it’s the truth. Even a city like Austin is incredibly hard to blow up in because the tastemakers and execs only come there once a year to get wasted during SXSW, then they’re back to LA and NY. I realized years ago that when I moved to Austin and spent the prime years of my music career there, I should have moved to NY or LA. I was just afraid of how expensive it was. Now I’m in my late 30s and still want to be a producer or lend my skill to other talent and still realizing I’ll need to make that move if I want that effort to have any impact.
Fabulous video. What city or country is best for dance music like edm, house, r n b, or modern chemical brothers?
Thoughts on Boston for indie rnb & ambient hip hop?
I’m a punk artist n cleveland. Do I have a chance
