SPOTIFY Launches MUSIC VIDEOS! What Musicians Do!

Spotify is directly challenging YouTube by introducing music videos for premium users, potentially transforming the music promotion landscape. The platform’s new video formats, including short ‘Canvas’ clips, 30-second ‘Clips,’ and now full music videos, aim to make artists more dependent on Spotify despite controversy over payment rates. The introduction of music videos on Spotify emphasizes their importance in engaging fans, increasing streams, merch sales, and concert support. Musicians are advised to continue investing in music videos and utilize multiple platforms to maximize discovery and fan growth. The narrative also criticizes those who downplay the relevance of music videos in the current digital age and highlights the potential strategy shifts for artists with Spotify’s evolving content offerings.

  1. Hey sir,
I have a video suggestion. I guess many of the guys would love if you make a video on Nic D. His marketing strategies and his way to see music business. It would take out a lot of confusions from our mind. Many of the artists don't wanna be be a typical social media artist and don't wanna release music every week and many things as he says but wanna make a living outta music. Is this possible in today's time for a musician ??

  2. Looking forward to another way to get a leg up on competitors who are too lazy to do the content creation work (not saying this is a 0 sum game but there are only so many ears) – too easy of a way to fail if you ask me. Great video thanks for posting.

  3. Spotify: The New Gatekeepers!

Kidding aside, I'm actually glad to hear this about music videos on Spotify. I'm even more glad to hear that it may be part of a larger effort to separate people who take their music seriously from those who don't. Thanks for sharing this info!

  4. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL U EVERYONE TAKE THEIR SONGS OFF ALL STREAMING SERVICES CREATE YOUR OWN PATREON YOR FANS PAY YOU AT LEAST 1.00 A MONTH U WILL MAKE MORE MONEY PER MONTH THAN ALL STREAMING SERVICES COMBINED!! THE CEOS ARE MAKING BILLIONS OF YOUR BACKS!!!

  5. BUT WHY?
If an artist is paid 0.003¢ for a stream, will they gain an extra fraction of a cent for expending more time, money and creativity on a video?

Who truly benefits in this Spotify exercise? The peanuts paid, barely pay for the music, now who gonna pay for the video? ROTFL.
