  1. Facebook is toxic and it's algorithm is horrible at 20% or less. This is intentional so you run an ad. Are going to run an ad so your friends and Aunt Connie sees the latest pics of your dog? Noooo. The ads only work if a) you know how to read the analytics like a pro and can make pro caliber videos for the ads or b) you are an established artists.

  2. I feel like social media and a path to your music are two different worlds. I have 165 Instagram followers and around 75 Facebook followers but feel it has never translated into more than literally a couple of Spotify streams per week. I have talked to enough people both in person and on Instagram itself to know that if you put a link to your music there no one follows that link even if they really like the song. It seems to be too much trouble or effort. I try really hard to not call that laziness but rather just part of the whole scrolling culture that exists in general on social media. The people who mainly respond to what I do on FB is my personal friends. I blame a lot of that on FB's algorithm which sucks ass.

  3. Gonna have to disagree on this one, chief. It's not an either/or situation; Facebook is still a key player in the promotion and fanbase building game.
Best of luck with the channel though!
