How to Display Twitch Stream Status in WordPress

Twitch is a video streaming platform popular among gamers who use it to broadcast their game play. It is also used to stream gaming events, competitions, tournaments, ect. In this video, we will show you how to display twitch stream status in WordPress.

Summary of this Tutorial:

Start by installing and activating the Twitch Status plugin.

Go to Settings, Twitch Status to configure the plugin.

You will need to add your Twitch channel name and the jquery selector.

We just enter .twitch for now and save changes.

Now you can add a Twitch widget to your sidebar.

To get it in your menu just go to Appearance, Menus and add a custom link with the Twitch stream url.

Go to screen options and check css class and under the css class add twitch there and it will show if you are live or not from your menu.

To embed your twitch stream in WordPress you’ll have to paste the embed code from twitch and add that to your post or page.

  1. Hey, I just downloaded this plugin and I love it, but is it possible to add more than one streamer? I havent found any function to do it yet

  2. I had to enter \.twitch in the setup instead of just .twitch as shown in this video in order to get it to work with the most current version of WordPress. I got an error without it.
