First, go to Google Custom Search Engine and sign in using a Google account. Once there, click on New Search Engine and provide your WordPress website’s URL.

On the next page, you will see an option to add it to your site or get the public URL. To add it to your site click on the get code button.

Go to Appearance, Editor in your WordPress admin area and open searchform.php, paste the search engine code in the file.

After pasting your Google custom search code, go to Appearance, Widgets to drag and drop the search widget into your sidebar.

  1. Nice Video Thanks…. But in ma theme i can see there is already a code in search form, related to my theme may be but as i want google search. So should i replace it taking a backup or what to do ? thanks

  2. Tnx for the video. what about uploading multiple files, I can't manage to get more than one file uploaded. When I upload a second one it does not show in my WP library. Thanks again.
