Thank you for making this video. I always heard of Donald Young, and now I can see what a true gentleman he was.
I had the honor of serving as Doyald's teaching assistant for one term, while a student at Art Center. It was amazing, watching him work with my fellow students, as well as just sitting and chatting with him in his home. This film shows just a small portion of his stunning library. I've never known anyone, before or since, who was as erudite, as charming, and utterly kind-hearted as he. I have personally signed copies of all three of his books, and they're among my greatest treasures. Rest in peace, my friend.
This video is a masterpiece
We keep doing something we love to make a better world and make us a better person. Thanks people! Thanks Lynda!
Virtuoso.

Great video! Remind me of DONDI WHITE ¨¨jedi mind tricks¨¨
What a beautiful programme! Lovely artist. Thank You, Lynda.com and Mr. Doyald Young.
at Art Center College of Design, back then the class he taught was Letterform 2, unfortunately he took a break when I was in second term. I did get to work with him on an independent project. He was awesome. I regret his passing and I regret not getting him to sign my copies of his books.
Great great video.
This gentlemen, Mr. Doyald Young is a true gentleman and inspiration. I'm sure his students are so blessed to have him as a teacher. Not only is he a master of his craft, he's also a philosopher.
Thanks for the video.
Scripty swirly fonts and typefaces are so tired and worn out and over used…. yet somehow when he uses them they don't look cheap or dated… they look fresh and lively. Awesome video and an amazing guy.
gosh <3
What is the kind of paper he used in the dictionary? the decorated paper.
Absolutely intriguing! I loved every second! Thanks Lynda, We Love You Too!
Truly inspiring
your letters are still fresh and young
Lovely Human Being…very inspiring… and the craftsmanship that is so rarely experienced by the youth in general in every school.
Doyald's work is so magnificent. And his words are so inspiring! It must be an honor to learn from him. I totally love this video!
