Summary of this tutorial:

You will want to start by installing and activating the Timeline Express plugin. Once it is activated you need to visit Timeline Express, Add New Announcement to add your first announcement or event.

Simply provide a title for the announcement or event, select a color, date, and icon. Font Awesome icons are built in to the plugin.

You can add an announcement image which will be used as the banner which needs to be 650px wide or larger.

When you finish adding your announcement you can publish it and repeat the process for more announcements.

With your announcements you will need to display them on your website. Start by creating a page in WordPress and give it a title for your timeline.

Add the shortcode [timeline-express] in the post editor and click on the publish button.

  1. hi, when I add the timeline to an existing page it sits on top of the rest of the content and wont allow me to move it down. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this? I'm building the page with a themify theme and the themify builder. Thanks

  2. Thanks for publishing. I liked the video, but your timeline comes out perfectly, whereas mine ends up all mushed together (overlapping and looking horrible) and I did exactly what you did. Any suggestions?

  3. Need plugin for sidebar/scrolling sidebar for front page. Colour options, animation possibly and scrolling speed along with customised text options. Have tried many, but could not find anything useful. Any suggestions?

  4. I have a lot of trouble understanding this narrator – perhaps if she slowed down a little, the accent would not be so difficult to understand. Fortunately, the visuals are easy to follow
